AULD LANG SYNE

Auld lang syne means "a toast to friends and times of long ago for old times sake" ,the Scottish poet Robert Burns so loved the phrase and the original version that he added new lyrics to it.Those original lyrics are gone and now the traditional version contains Burns' lyrics. It is still a wondeful tune and even though it is sung at New Years Eve it can be used every day.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind
should auld acquaintance be forgot
and auld lang syne

for auld lang syne my friend
for auld lang syne
we'll take a cup of kindness yet
for auld lang syne

we two have paddled in the burn
from morning sun til' dine
but seas between us braid and roared
since auld lang syne

for auld lang syne my friend
for auld lang syne
we'll take a cup of kindness yet
for auld lang syne

and here's a hand my trusty friend
and give a hand of thine
and we'll take a right gude-willie waught
for auld lang syne

for auld lang syne my friend
for auld lang syne
we'll take a cup of kindness yet
for auld lang syne

should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brough to mind
should auld acquaintance be forgot
and auld lang syne

for auld lang syne my friend
for auld lang syne
we'll take a cup of kindness yet
for auld lang syne
